The Energy Automation Systems Inc. (EASI) method
how EASI reduces electrical energy costs

The entire facility

Energy Automation Systems Inc. (EASI) addresses an entire facility's energy usage and cost savings potential. Many engineering companies focus on individual loads, and promote expensive, single-area products that reduce energy usage in small components of the system. Energy Automation Systems Inc. (EASI) involves the entire facility, taking a systematic approach that achieves greater energy cost savings and a faster return on investment.

Our comprehensive site survey uses the data from many pieces of equipment to asses the electrical loading in various building branch circuits. We take electrical measurements and gather information about the entire electrical system layout, including the various electrical panels and transformers. This information is compiled and analyzed to learn the energy and cost savings possible through use of a custom Energy Automation Systems, Inc. (EASI) system.

Less heat, more savings

Facility electrical systems are composed of many individual bits and pieces – wires, bus bars, switches, circuit breakers, motor starters, transformers, nuts and bolts, screws and washers, plugs, receptacles and many, many more. These components work together to conduct the electrical current demanded by the building's many electrical loads.

Inefficiencies in electrical systems cause these components to emit wasteful (and sometimes harmful) heat. This type of waste can comprise 5% to 30% of total electricity demand. Old, poorly designed or extremely complex electrical systems may show heating losses of more than 30%.

Energy Automation Systems, Inc. (EASI) uses the information gathered during its comprehensive survey to learn how much energy is lost as wasteful heat. By installing equipment that virtually eliminates these inefficiencies, we greatly reduce wasted energy.

Power quality

Many facilities experience poor power quality due to distorted electrical current, often referred to as harmonics. Harmonic current is made up of current drawn at frequencies well above the frequency of the utility electrical supply. Poor power quality can result in higher costs and potentially damaging effects on equipment.

A facility's newest equipment is often responsible for this harmonic current. Notorious creators of harmonic current include computers; UPS systems; office equipment; programmable logic controllers; variable frequency AC motor drives; DC motor drives; rectifiers and arcing and induction heating systems. The very equipment purchased to reduce energy costs can sometimes increase the harmonic current.

Energy Automation Systems, Inc. (EASI) has a group of products ranging from passive filters to active harmonics correction devices that detect and correct harmonics.

Lighting correction

EASI has developed lighting controllers that can lower energy costs without replacing existing fixtures for almost all types of existing lights and ballasts. These controlelrs can be installed anywhere on the system – even in the lights themselves. The related savings generally ranges from 15-35% of the lighting loads without a proportionate drop in light level.

Sometimes it makes good business sense to replace old fixtures with new ones, and Energy Automation Systems, Inc. (EASI) offers a wide array of lighting retrofit products designed for all types of lighting systems. In addition, light levels can often be improved with the use of newer or high efficiency bulbs.

Electrical system work

On occasion , our electricians may find electrical system issues such as unbalanced voltages and loose connections. These can also contribute to system inefficiencies. Our electricians can usually perform corrective actions at your request, which will lead to more energy costs savings and help prevent electrical system problems.

All equipment Energy Automations Systems Inc. (EASI) installs in your facility is backed by our three-year warranty.
